Jem, Jany, Jauguar, Jedi and Jersey came to us after we were contacted about two litters of kittens that would be loosing their home just as the weather was turning cold.  We offered to help and then discovered that they were actually a hour and half drive away from Columbus.  It was to hard to say no after seeing pictures and hearing their story.  We were very lucky to have a kind couple agree to foster all nine kittens and their mothers.  They even decided to make the drive to get them all.  Upon arrival, however, they discovered that cat were living inside and not inside as we were told.  The kittens were living on a porch and were cold and showing signs of becoming ill.  The moms were feral and not friendly as we were also told.  Our foster did not have the equipment to try and catch moms and felt it was best to at least save the nine kittens.  Our foster has done a wonderful job caring for and loving these kittens and we are now hoping they will have a wonderful home of their own.  They are  current on vaccine, flea and worm treated and microchip.  Their approx. DOB is 9/9/2019.

Jem, Jany, Jaguar, Jedi and Jersey did test positive for FIV.  They are Leukemia negative.

We are hoping to find them loving homes are they are very sweet, loving kittens and are healthy. We are looking for homes with either no other cats or a home that already has an FIV positive cat. Although, it is a virus that is transmitted through bite and most cats in a home do not bite, we would not want to risk exposure to a negative cat.

Indoor cats can live a normal, long life with FIV.

The statement below is from the Cornell Feline Health Center. We have had several litters in the past test positive on first test and then all were negative at re-test. We are truly praying these five kittens will be negative.

"Infected mother cats transfer FIV antibodies to nursing kittens, so kittens born to infected mothers may receive positive test results for several months after birth. However, few of these kittens actually are or will become infected. To clarify their infection status, kittens younger than six months of age that test positive for FIV should be retested at 60-day intervals until they are at least six months old."
