Bonnie was posted on CL for free with heartworms, because if she was returned to the shelter that she came from, she would be euthanized.  We had sent out a help request for her and quickly had a response that said they would not only foster her but adopt her once she was spayed.  We agreed to take her thinking we had a home and within 24 hours had taken her in, had her to the vets to be examined, vaccinated and a course of treatment for her heartworms done and she was on her way to what we had hoped would be a forever home.  It did not work out with the Jack Russell in the home and the family was not able to do a slow introducation and give it some time, so she was returned just as quickly.  We have a temporay home for her but she is in need of a very special, loving home that will make sure she gets her medication (heart worm prevention monthly) for the rest of her life so she can live a normal healthy life.  She is a beautiful dog and deserves better then she has been given in the first couple of years of her life.  She seems to be very interested in small animals so we are hoping to place her in a home without cats.
